Job Title: Key Account Manager

How long have you worked at Scott Pallets? 2 years 8 months

How would you explain your job to people outside of the company? I am the main point of contact between my customer base and the business. Helping them to ensure their product reaches their customers on a safe and fit for purpose pallet.

How did you get into your role? I wanted to progress to a Key Account Manager position and move away from the dog eat dog world of car sales.

Walk us through a typical day at work: I enjoy my job as it is varied. One day I can be out meeting customers, running through their quarterly reviews or measuring up pallets for quotes or redesigns. The next I can be working from home responding to emails, running reports, pushing through contracts or arranging audits. Each day is full and has its own challenges which I enjoy.

What was your first paying job? I did a paper round across the whole village for £5 a week. I had to call my mum to bring me more papers as I delivered to every single house!

What do you like to do outside of work? I love being outdoors, we are currently working on a new vegetable patch. Restoring an old greenhouse and turning an old paddock into a food forest. I enjoy growing our own fruit, veg and flowers its especially rewarding in the summer when you have an abundance you can share with your loved ones.

Do you have any pets? We have two dogs, Lady & Lenny.

Where do you see yourself progressing within Scott Pallets/and or wider group businesses? I am in the process of inheriting a larger portfolio having moved to Wales. I want to help these customers grow and utilise other resources within the wider group. I’m happy within my current position and aim to progress within the role to be the best Account Manager I can.
