How long have you worked at Scott Pallets? 2 and a half years
How would you explain your job to people outside of the company? Working for the largest supplier of manufactured and reconditioned pallets in the UK enables me to engage with a wide range of industry sectors and people, which provides me with a great mix and variation.
How did you get into your role? I had worked as a BDM in a different product industry for 20 years, and wanted a complete industry change and a new challenge.
Walk us through a typical day at work: Checking in with site managers regarding the day’s deliveries, specific requirements and any potential issues, account and potential customer visits, looking to grow or bring on new business, reaching customer requirements and updating portal and customer information.
What was your first paying job? Local Paper round aged 10
What do you like to do outside of work? As well as the usual socialising with friends and family, I like to get out with my dogs, walking away from the madding crowds.
Do you have any pets? I have 2 dogs, a black Labrador called Ned and a Border terrier called Barney,
Are you a sports fan? Who are your favourite teams? I am a member of a local Gun Club where I practice Clay pigeon shooting.
Where do you see yourself progressing within Scott Pallets/and or wider group businesses? While still gaining experience within the reconditioned pallet sector at Scott’s Pallets, the opportunities ahead within the wider group are exciting, and I would welcome any opportunity to diversify within the company.
